Disabled Voters Rising: Political Education and Training Series

Presented by New Disabled South Rising and New Disabled South, “Disabled Voters Rising: Political Education and Training Series” covers numerous topics over Zoom between June and October. The goal of this series is to provide necessary skills and knowledge in disability policy and accessibility to voters, policymakers and elected officials, election campaigns, and voter contact organizers and organizations.

Each session will be focused on a topic and are offered as webinars, training sessions, or panels. Each topic will be geared towards a specific audience, though registration is open to all.

2024 Landscape: Hostile Policy and Disability-Centered Solutions

(1 hour) This webinar will provide an overview of the 2024 policy landscape, including barriers and their impacts on disabled people. With a focus on disability-centered solutions, attendees will learn about how hostile policy can be changed through disability justice.

(90 minutes) Accessibility is a critical facet to planning any event. This interactive training will provide strategies and best practices for ensuring your in-person and virtual events are inclusive to disabled staff, volunteers, and attendees.
