2024 Kentucky Voting Checklist + Deadlines

  1. Find out if you are registered to vote. Check your status here.

  2. Register if you need to by Monday, October 7, 2024 at 4:00 PM. Update your existing registration if any of your information has changed.

  3. Make sure you have your ID/Voter ID with you. 

  4. The general election date is Tuesday,  November 5, 2024. Put this date on your calendar.

  5. You can also vote early through In-Person absentee voting without excuse  from Thursday,  October 31, 2024 to Saturday, November 2, 2024 or In-Person absentee voting with excuse from Wednesday, October 23, 2024 to Wednesday, October 30, 2024. Put these dates on your calendar.

  6. Request an absentee ballot if you want to vote-by-mail instead of in-person

  7. Return your absentee ballot by:

    • Tue Nov 5, 2024 6:00PM

  8. Find out where your polling place is. 

  9. Be sure to take note of any accessibility challenges you might face. Kentucky does NOT have curbside voting.

  10. If you need some instructions or want a demonstration of your district’s voting system or accessible equipment, contact your Supervisor of Elections in your county. 

  11. Check out what a sample ballot looks like. If you did not receive one in the mail, most Supervisors of Elections have them posted on their websites.

  12. Arrange any transportation help you might need. Do this in advance, not on the day you need a ride.
